About Miguel Keith
As a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, operating with the Third Marine Amphibious Force in Vietnam, a severly wounded LCPL Keith was mortally wounded when he braved concentrated hostile fire to charge an estimated twenty-five enemy soldiers who were massing to attack. His actions contributed to the success of his platoon in routing a numerically superior enemy force.

The Commissioning
In May 2021, at Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego, California the Commissioning Ceremony and events surrounding it will commemorate the legacy of Miguel Keith and welcome the ship that bears his name into the active fleet of the United States Navy.
We need your help
The Commissioning Ceremony itself is fully funded by the Navy. However the commemorative events surrounding the commissioning are sponsored by the Navy League of the United States, San Diego Council.
